PRIZES OF THE SHORT FILM CONTEST CALLED "100TH ANNIVERSARY" PRESENTED TO THE WINNERS

The award ceremony of the interprovincial short film contest themed "100th Anniversary and Education", held as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic, was hosted by the Ministry of National Education. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and the artists who took part in the play called "Towards the Republic".

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, in his speech at the award ceremony of the short film contest themed "100th Year and Education", said that the activities within the scope of the 100th anniversary of the Republic are continuing.
 
Stating that at least one event was held for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic in all 56 thousand schools across the country, Minister Tekin said that there are around 150-200 thousand events throughout Türkiye regarding the 100th Anniversary of the Republic.
 
Noting that as the central organization of the Ministry, Minister Tekin stated that they have planned various events to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Republic throughout Türkiye and organized the Education on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic through the Eyes of Teachers Symposium, which started on December 26, similar to the first Education Congress Mustafa Kemal Atatürk held 102 years ago in the light of understanding states: "The new Century will be built on teachers!" 
 
Touching upon the statement raised by Atatürk in the Education Congress: 'there are two dimensions of liberation: One carried out with weapons, the other with reason. We carried out the dimension carried out with weapons, you will also carry out the dimension related to reason.', Minister Tekin said that it is imperative to build an education system on the perception of national civilization by analyzing the national references Atatürk used in his address to teachers and the situation that the elements brought into the eastern or western education system put the country into.
 
"'Towards the Republic' made a tremendous impact"
Reminding that the 12th performance of the "Towards the Republic", prepared within the scope of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic, was held in Ankara last night, the Minister expressed that the actors defined the play as one of the most beautiful works of art made in the 100 years of the Republic.
 
Thanking the actors and actresses, Tekin underlined that the play made a tremendous impact. Wishing similar steps that are capable to ensure social unity in Türkiye to be taken with great determination and courage, Minister Tekin stated that the disinformation and efforts to create a negative perception of the masses who are disturbed by the social unity in Türkiye will ultimately harm the social unity. Minister Tekin stressed that they will continue to take steps to ensure the unity in Türkiye.
 
"Sports and art lessons are very important"
Stating that he attaches great importance to the short film contest themed "100th Anniversary and Education", Tekin said, "Sports and art lessons are very important for children to manage their own talents, we are taking steps in this direction. This event is important in terms of encouraging children to develop their talents." Tekin said that he cares about children expressing the values that hold society together through artistic methods.
 
Expressing that it is important for them to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic not only as the central organization of the Ministry, but throughout schools to make a successful, idealistic and projected start to the Century of Türkiye, just like 100 years ago, Minister wished the 100th anniversary enthusiasm will give them he energy and a brand new motivation in the construction of the new Century of Türkiye.
 
Interprovincial short film contest themed "100th Anniversary and Education"
Films prepared in experimental, documentary and animation genres were evaluated in the inter-provincial short film contest themed "100th Anniversary and Education" organized by the Ministry of National Education Directorate General of Secondary Education within the scope of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic.
 
All stakeholders of education, students, teachers and educational institution administrators in particular took part in the films. Provincial national education directorates cooperated with higher education institutions and received consultancy and equipment support.
 
47 provinces applied for the short film competition. The preliminary jury selected the 10 films, as the main jury selected the top 3 among 10 films.
 
Mersin Provincial Directorate of National Education won first prize with the movie called "Unforgettable".  The Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education ranked second with the movie called "Aziz". The third place went to the Mardin Provincial Directorate of National Education with the movie called "Kabala".
 
Minister Tekin and the artists performing in the play called "Towards the Republic" presented their awards to the winners.
